Noise processing in hearing aids has improved dramatically in recent years. Still, it doesn't hurt to choose a quiet restaurant when you go out. Even people without hearing loss have an easier time communicating without competing noise. After all, going out is ultimately about socializing. Here is a list of restaurants that patients have recommended for their quiet environment, as well as their food. If you have one to add, please email it to me and I'll add it to the list. Paradise Café (Veranda)
La Playa Azul (Veranda)
Scarlet Begonia (Patio)
Lure (in the back of the restaurant at 5 pm)
The Patio Cafe
Meun Fan thai cafe
Max's (after 1pm)
Hearing Aid Accessories for Help in Noise
Remote microphones help improve the signal to noise ratio better than even the most advanced hearing aid. See how wireless technology can help by clicking on the links below.
There is also old fashioned wired technology. I made a blog post about one that I use in the office.
